Princess Wishes!

Last night we took the kids to
"Princess Wishes" a Disney on Ice production! Brooklyn has been so excited for the last couple weeks, she had all her Princess clothes laid out on her bed for days!

For Thanksgiving this year, we decided to road trip out to Provo where we could spend Thanksgiving with the Carlson-Brown Family, since we will be spending Christmas in Phoenix! What a blast! It was so fun to visit all of Tyler's siblings that are at BYU, go to a football game, get a pedicure with my sister in laws, do some shopping, visit old friends and see all our favorite Provo hot spots! We hope that you all had a great Thanksgiving.... All out love and Thanks!

Here are a couple thing that you may not know about me, if you already knew, sorry to bore you, but I was TAGGED okay???

1. I have some sort of serious phobia of EXPIRED FOOD! I will not touch any food item that is within 3 days of it's expiration date! This cause's quite a stir around our house because my Husband will eat a block of cheese covered in MOLD! I think it all started back when I was living at home and my mom would send one of us girls into the food storage for some needed food item and we would realize later that it had expired 07/1982!!!! Ahhhh! Seriously this topic gives me quivers just thinking about it!

2. I love to DECORATE! I wake up every morning thinking about how I can improve or decorate my house... i drive around town looking through model homes, sneak through all the homes in construction in my neighborhood to see what finishes they have chosen.. am the first in line to buy Parade of Homes tickets... I go to bed thinking about my house, other peoples houses, and people I don't know houses! I know scary! I picked this up from my mom who had always kept such a beautiful home, now if i could keep my house as clean as her i would be doing great!

3. The biggest thrill of my entire day is going to the MAILBOX! I have always loved getting mail since I was a little girl! When I was little I had my mom make me a copy of the mail key so I could ride my bike to the mailbox, put something in there for myself and go back 10 minutes later and pick it up! It's like getting a little gift everyday! I have always wanted one of those personal mailboxes in my front yard....Where do you have to move to get one of those by the way?

4. I am deathly afraid of AIRPLANES!! I know most of you that have flown with me are dying laughing because it's usually quite the entertainment to sit next to me on a plane! I have never had a near death experience on a plane, I don't know anyone who has had a bad experience, I just have this fear and I fly all the time. I nearly had a Nervous breakdown when Tyler and I went to Belize this last spring, and we had to fly on a little crop duster across the ocean and land on a 7 foot wide dirt runway..I am not kidding this almost caused us a divorce!! Thankfully someone introduced me to a little pill called Zanex, and to my surprise we made it in one piece!

5. I love being a MOMMY!! I am always so amazed that I am a mom! Wow! What a blessing to have two adorable little healthy mini me's! Everyday is an adventure around here. I am constantly laughing at the cute little things that fly out of their mouths. I love sitting back and watching them when they have no idea I am watching because I can't believe how smart and articulate they can be! There are days (hopefully I am not the only mom that has these days!) that I wonder what it would have been like if I had waited longer between the two, got my degree first, traveled the world with my husband.... then I see my kids happy, healthy, playing together, crying for the other when one is not here and I realize I wouldn't change a thing.. My life is PERFECT!

6. My best friend is my HUSBAND! I know this is so cheesy, and no I am not trying to win brownie points for those diamond earrings I have been wanting... Wink Wink! Just Kidding!! (My husband wont even read this) I can't believe that I married such an amazing guy! Tyler is so helpful with the kids, romantic, smart, thoughtful, sensitive and adventurous! I am sure he hates the fact that I drag him around all day Saturday to Michaels, Nordstrom's, and Target running errands because I am on the buddy system, but everything is so much more fun when he is around! I can't imagine my life without him and often wonder what I did to deserve him... I guess the begging was worth it....J/K

Fall Family Photo Shoot!

Okay ... Am I the only Mother/Wife that takes weeks planning-coordinating a family photo shoot & then is inevitably always disappointed with the results?? Seriously! Brooklyn is notorious for having some sort of Nuclear flip out right before we take a family picture...either she refuses to wear what I put on her, shoves her entire hand in her mouth or decides that smiling isn't bad after all as soon as the photographer walks away! We'll Miss you Monica!

Yesterday we got some VERY sad news... Tyler's "Jamaican Mama" Passed away... As many of you know we just went out to NYC to visit three of Tyler's mission converts. Monica was one that Tyler adored. He converted her 7 years ago, she was the sweetest lady and had grown so much over the last 7 years. She had such a great testimony of the church was eager to share her new love with others.. We are so grateful for the opportunity we had to take her out to dinner last week for her 54th Birthday! Her death was unexpected and very sad news for Tyler to hear.. We know she is happy and looking down on us! We will miss you Monica!

Boston had a little Cowboy Birthday party this past weekend! Yes, his actual Birthday was last weekend while Tyler and I were in Washington DC... Yes, i do feel guilty that I missed my Son's 2nd Birthday, although everyone keeps reminding me he would never know the difference (it's still a sensitive subject), so we made up for it with a little party for him complete with a Cowboy hat Pinata, Horse Cupcakes and Hot Dogs (his favorite). The weather held out long enough to have a little fun at the park and BBQ some burgers and hot dogs! We jumped into the car to head home and it started pouring rain! Thanks to all the family that took the "long" trek south...(it's only about a 15 minute drive from Thornton, but we are constantly getting grief for moving south of I-70!)

Brooklyn got EARINGS!!

After much opposition from Tyler, my sisters and I took Brooklyn to get her ears pierced on Monday! She jumped in the chair, chose her earings, and it went south from there! After a few tears, she quickly recovered and loves her new jewels! After all, it's all she wanted for Bostons Birthday! Too cute!

Chase (Tyler's little brother) and Ashleigh got married last Friday in Washington D.C....It was amazing! Wow! Ashleigh looked beautiful as always and we are so happy that she is now offically part of the Carlson Family! Thanks for such a wonderful weekend! We had a blast!

Oh my goodness!! There is so much to tell and so many pictures I wish I had all day! But here is the summed up version of our get away to NYC! I have never had so much fun in my life...Tyler pounded me into the concrete! We woke up early and stayed out late...we were KID free! He wanted me to see EVERYTHING! (and believe me we saw it all) Tyler served his mission in NYC , so he was a great tour guide.. We went to the top of the Empire State Building, toured Time Square, drove out to Montauk (the furthest East you can possibly go in the USA) drove through the Hampton's, ate Dessert twice every night, shopped , went to a taping of The Martha Stewart Show and Live with Regis and Kelly, (Jude Law was the guest!! Wahoo!), ate at Juniors, shopped at the worlds largest Anthropologie at the Rockefeller Center, took a tour of Ground Zero, visited with Tyler's two favorite women on Earth, Monica and Lystra his Jamaican Converts... Shopped in Soho, walked through Central Park, Met up with some old friends and much much more! We had so much fun and it was such a great time for Tyler and I to get away from it all...I love you Ty, you're the best! A-

This past weekend was Chase (Chase is Tyler's Younger Brother) and Ashleigh's Denver Bridal shower.. Ash received some great gifts..I am so jealous! I want to get married all over again... (To Tyler of Course) just to have another shower! It was so fun to meet her family and introduce them to all the Carlson Clan..I know it can be a bit overwhelming...Sorry Ash..I feel your pain.... Ash and I both come from very small families with two sisters each. The initial meeting can be a little intimidating. You did great..The names will all come in time!
We love you Ash and can't wait until you are officially part of the family! We couldn't ask for a sweeter, classier more humble addition! Kisses! A-
